  • 34 Farmers Cooperatives and Associations received Rice Reapers under RCEF Mechanization Program

    LANAO DEL SUR- Agriculture Service Division of MAFAR-BARMM Lanao del sur facilitated the Distribution of Rice Reapers  to Farmers Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) under 2022 Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF)  Mechanization Program from November 14 to 24, 2022 at different municipalities of Lanao del sur.

    About 34 Farmers Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) received rice reapers under RCEF Mechanization Program. Recipients are from different municipalities of Lanao del sur such as Kapai, Piagapo, Tagoloan Ii, Bubong, Lumba Bayabao, Buadiposo-Buntong,  Ditsaan-Ramain, Marawi City, Mulondo, Tamparan, Taraka, Maguing, Poona Bayabao, Lumbatan, Masiu, Lumba Bayabao, Butig, Sultan Dumalondong, Madalum And Tubaran.

    The distributed rice reapers were thoroughly inspected and undergone trial run test to ensure its functionality. Further, signing of documents was also done during the turnover.

    The Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program helps Filipino farmers become competitive with our neighboring countries. Through machinery grants and its adoption among the Farmers Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs), it is expected to lessen the production cost by Php3.00/kilo and can save up to 5% of postharvest losses.

    Field Validation of proposed sites for Tulay ng Pangulo project starts on February 13.

    LANAO DEL SUR- MAFAR-LDS through Agrarian Reform Division started the field validation of proposed site intended for Tulay ng pangulo project on February 13 at Marogong, Lanao Del sur.

    Among the proposed sites are Poona Bayabao, Tugaya, Marogong, Bubong and Butig. The validation shall run until February 20.

    Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlaran at Agrario is a project intended to ease the transportation of the farmers’ products from their farms to the market so that they would be able to sell them at a fair price and increase their income.

    This project ,which will link the road network within the ARC barangays, aims to the improve the economic welfare of more than a thousand agrarian reform beneficiaries in the farming communities.

    The TPKP project involves the construction, installation, and establishment of “universal bridges” in priority ARCs which will serve as their road networks to main markets.

  • MAFAR-LDS LED THE DISTRIBUTION OF SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT

    MARAWI CITY- Lanao del sur is one of the provinces in BARMM which has a large number of conflict affected communities. One of the most unforgettable one was the Marawi Siege which resulted to the displacement of hundreds of residents while others even lost their livelihood. Just like Marawi, other municipalities such as Piagapo, Butig and among others are also greatly affected. That is the reason why sustainable livelihood support to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) was initiated by the MAFAR-Lanao del sur through its Agrarian Reform Division.

    There are 15 recipients from different municipalities such as Marantao, Piagapo, Bubong, Madamba, Maguing, Molondo, Masiu, Marogong, Binidayan, Taraka, Piagapo, Balindong, Butig and Tubaran that already received the said sustainable livelihood which varies to six different types which include Abaca production, Native Chicken Production, Goat Raising, Palapa production, Ginger production and Vegetable production.

    Recipients of Abaca Production received 200 seedlings and Deco machines, recipients of Palapa Production received seeds and hand tools while recipients of Ginger and vegetable production both received hand tools, grinding machines and canisters. On the other hand, for the recipients of Native chicken production, each received a total of 34 chickens, 2 sacks of feeds, 1 roll net and 2 sets of biologics while recipients of Goat raising received a total of 12 goats.

    To ensure the sustainability of this project, series of trainings and lectures will be organized by the MAFAR-Lanao del sur.

    The Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Agrarian Reform- Lanao del Sur proudly joins the Bangsamoro Region and the Nation in observing WORLD HIJAB DAY 2023 with the theme “Progression, Not Oppression.”

    The House of Representatives on November 16, 2022 approved on its third and final reading a measure declaring Feb. 1 of every year as National Hijab Day to raise awareness of the Muslim practice.

    Authored by Maguindanao Rep. Bai Dimple Mastura, Basilan Rep. Mujiv Hataman, Lanao del Norte 1st District Rep. Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo and other lawmakers, the measure aims to encourage women to wear the hijab, stop discrimination of those who practice the culture, and remove misconceptions.

    “The State recognizes the role of women in nation-building and shall ensure the fundamental equality of women and men before the law. The free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession and worship, without discrimination and or preference, shall be forever allowed,” the bill’s explanatory note said.

    “The National Hijab Day shall be observed on every first day of February to showcase hijabis’ rights and the Muslim tradition of wearing a hijab. Muslim and non-Muslim women shall be encouraged to don the hijab on this day,” it added.

    On the other hand, World Hijab Day is an annual event found by Nazma Khan in 2013, taking place on February 1 each year in 140 countries worldwide. Its stated purpose is to encourage women of all religions and backgrounds to wear and experience the hijab for a day and to educate and spread awareness on why hijab is worn. Nazma Khan’s goal was also to normalize hijab wearing.

  • MAFAR Lanao del sur, nakiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Anibersaryo ng Bangsamoro Government

    Nakiisa ang MAFAR Lanao del sur Provincial Office sa pagdiriwang ng ikaapat na anibersaryo ng Bangsamoro Government na may temang “Sama-samang Pagtataguyod sa Isang Mas Mapayapa at Mas Masaganang Bangsamoro” na nagsimulang ipagdiwang nitong January 21, 2023.

    Kasabay ng pagdiriwang nito, nag organisa ang MAFAR Lanao del sur ng serye ng iba’t ibang aktibidad. Kabilang na dito ang pag bigay ng Certificate of Appreciation sa mga Divisions/Sections at MAFAR Municipal Offices (MMOs) bilang pagkilala sa kanilang dedikasyon sa trabaho at pag bibigay serbisyo sa ating mga kabangsa.

    Nagkaroon din ng “2022 Year End Assessment and 2023 Strategic Planning” na kung saan nagbalik tanaw ang mga Division Chiefs sa ilang accomplishments ng MAFAR Lanao del sur at nagbigay din ng ilang update sa kung anong aabangang programa at proyekto sa taong 2023.

    Nagkaroon din ng Sport fest at fun activities na kung saan aktibong sinalihan ng mga emplyado ng MAFAR Lanao del sur.

    Layunin ng aktibidad na mas patibayin pa ang samahan ng mga emplyado ng MAFAR lanao del sur para sa mas progresibong MAFAR.

  • Pansor Consumer Cooperative of Ganasi, LDS underwent Packaging and Labeling Training

    MAFAR Lanao del sur recently conducted “Packaging and Labeling Training” on December 21-23, 2022 at RTC Maradeca, Marantao, Lanao del Sur.

    According to Engr. Al-Arief P. Mangata, Supervising Agriculturist and AMAD focal, the training aimed to capacitate the participants from Ganassi on Basic Farm Business Skills.

    Resource persons who graced the activity were Prince Shoudery Galo and Malano A. Mai both from MTIT-Lanao del Sur, and Ali Rizah K. Said.

    Also present during the training were the activity’s facilitators OIC-MMO of Ganassi Norhalidah L. Macatumpang, AT Norhanifah T. Abdulganie, and ARPT Hafidah H.I. Balindong.

    Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) on Coffee was also introduced during the training.

    Pansor Consumer Cooperative members, participants of the said activity, were also taught to formulate their own fertilizer to reduce their farm input costs.

  • MAFAR Lanao del sur conducts Final Site Validation for “MAFARLENGKE sa Probinsya”

    On December 23, MAFAR Lanao del sur conducted a Final Validation of the site for “MAFARLENGKE sa Probinsya”, a project under the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of MAFAR-Lanao del Sur.

    According to Engr. Al-Arief Mangata, Supervising Agriculturist and focal person of AMAD, the target site for the said project is in Pindolunan, Ganassi, Lanao del Sur.

    Along with Engr. Al-Arief Mangata were Chief of Operation for Agriculture Engr. Abdulgaphar L. Sansarona, OIC-MMO of Ganassi Norhalidah L. Macatumpang, AT Norhanifah T. Abdulganie, ARPT Hafidah H.I. Balindong, Chairperson of Pansor Consumer Cooperative and its members, and other MAFAR Staff.

    The MAFARLENGKE is a program promoted by the MAFAR through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) intended for helping the farmers sell their fresh agricultural products directly to the consumers. It also ventures to reduce the transportation cost among the farmers in marketing their produce and enable the consumers to have access and be able to buy goods at a more affordable price.

  • Atleast 300 individuals from Lanao Del sur to receive community based training

    A total of 300 individuals from 13 Barangays of Lanao Del sur to receive community based training after the MOA Signing on Community Based Training was successfully signed on December 14, 2022 between MAFAR Lanao Del sur and TESDA-Lanao Del Sur.

    This is a convergence program on Food Security of BARMM in partnership with TESDA – Lanao Del sur and MAFAR-BARMM Lanao Del Sur.

    The said program is composed of Agri Crops NC 2 and 3, and Organic Agriculture NC 2 to be conducted in 13 barangays within the province of Lanao del Sur which include Barangay Matampay and Barangay Miphaga of Saguiaran, Barangay Matampay and Barangay Biaba-Damag of Marawi City, and other barangays from Marogong, Masiu, Taraka, Bubong Ramain, Piagapo, Balabagan, and Wato Balindong.

    25 participants will be coming from each barangay that makes a total of 300 participants throughout the province.

    Following the successful MOA signing, the said training commenced on December 15, 2022.

  • MAFAR-Lanao del sur conducts Organizational Management and Leadership Training cum Coaching and Mentoring with Field trips

    The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) Lanao del sur Provincial Office organized a training dubbed as “Organizational Management and Leadership Training ” on November 23-25, 2022 at The Loft Hotel, Iligan City.

    The training was participated by MAFARLENDS Beneficiaries 2022 and other Farmers and Fisherfolks Cooperatives and Associations (FFCAs) in Lanao del sur. The participants were able to experience Coaching and Mentoring from the Resource Persons Sittie Aireen L. Mai and Malano A. Mai of MTIT Lanao del sur and Omair Radia of PCA-Lanao del Sur.

    According to MAFAR-AMAD Lanao del Sur Focal and Supervising Agriculturist Engr. Al-Arief P. Mangata, the activity aims to capacitate the partner Cooperatives on Basic Entrepreneurial Skills and Bench marking to other established Farms/Cooperatives.

    Further, a field trip to established farms was also organized.

  • The MAFAR-BARMM, Lanao del sur offers free legal services and consultations in connection with Agrarian Law Implementation


    In consonance with this, MAFAR-BARMM Legal Division of Lanao del Sur conducted Legal Education with the agenda re Guidelines and Procedures of Transfer of Name for Titles issued under Agrarian Reform particularly CLOA holders of Matalin, Malabang Lanao del Sur on November 19, 2022. Other legal issues and concerns of the ARBs were also raised and addressed during the consultation.


    Atty. Johayra C. Ysmael of MAFAR Legal Division spearheaded the event. Other attendees were Atty. Maimona Ampuan of Regional Office, CARPO Rocaima Mindalano, the two Special Investigators of MAFAR LDS Atty. Saliha P. Lalanto and Hafsah B. Langcua, and the rest of the Legal and Agrarian Reform team.


    Manager Rhel E. Brua of Matling Multi-Purpose Cooperative and the Board of Directors Mr. Ali Tuba and Mr. Mitimbang Gubar of Matling Multi-Purpose Coopertative also graced the event and positively responded to the team.

  • MAFAR-BARMM, Lanao del sur conducts Awareness Seminar that addresses IUUF and its Negative impact

    MAFAR-BARMM, Lanao del sur thru its Fisheries Service Division led by Chief Aquaculturist Al-Nizar Dimaporo conducted Awarness Seminar which tackles Salient features of Republic Act 8550 as amended by Republic Act 10654 on November 22, 2022 at Brgy. Balut, Bacolod-Kalawi, Lanao del sur.

    This Republic Act amends the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998 (Republic Act No. 8550) and aims to deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing. Amendments deal with several aspects of the above mentioned Code, specifying new management and conservation measures to conserve and manage living marine resources, fisheries and aquaculture in the Philippines and the reconstitution or establishment of fisheries institutions both at the national and local level.

    Local Fisherfolk in the area engaged in capture Fisheries received lectures on Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUUF) and its Negative impact including how it threatens marine biodiversity, livelihoods, exacerbates poverty, and augments food insecurity.

  • “Justice delayed is justice denied.”

    The Office of the MAFAR Lanao Del Sur thru its Legal Division in relation to one of its programs, the Agrarian Justice Delivery Program (AJDP), believes that prompt resolution of cases and delivery of reliefs to its partner farmers and fisherfolks is one way of serving justice. Hence, to address the need to deliver its services promptly, (3) three days training activities for this Office’s Agrarian Reform Program Technologists (ARPTs) and MAFAR Municipal Officers (MMOs) Were conducted on November 9-11, 2022 at MAFAR Lanao Del Sur Social Hall.

    The first (2) two days of the said training were focused on “Legal Case Management and Analysis” to train the said APRTs and MMOs to inventory the pending agrarian and fishery cases in each municipality in Lanao Del Sur and to fast track the case building and processing of the said agrarian cases.

    Each municipality’s MMOs/ARPTs presented their case management and monitoring and the projection of their targeted physical cases during the 2nd day.

    The 3rd and last day of the said activity was aimed to strategize the planning of 2022 agrarian and fishery cases by discussing strategies for the effective delivery of the 2022 targets.

    During the course of the event, discussions also ensued. Some special provisions of the CARP Law were given highlights as well as the procedure of Land transfer cases and inclusion and exclusions.
